The video capturing the moment when Kevin Hart wound up in a wheelchair has finally been released, following his decision to challenge former NFL player Stevan Ridley to a race. The footage shows Hart pulling back just before the finish line, seemingly straining a muscle in the process. After the incident, Hart admitted to tearing his abdominal and abductor muscles, which left him wheelchair-bound. Taking to social media, Hart joked about his failed attempt at racing, saying, “I’m usually pretty speedy, but Stevan had me feeling challenged.” He went on to explain the extent of his injuries, confessing, “I can’t even walk… I’ve had to take a seat. I messed up everything – ripped my lower abdomen and these abductors got torn. I don’t even know what those are, but they’re definitely torn.”
The footage captures a friendly race between Stevan Ridley on the left and Kevin Hart on the right, where Hart unfortunately ended up injuring himself.
Hart took to Instagram to share a video where he revealed that he had injured his abdomen and thigh muscles.
Ridley attributed his belief in Hart’s ability to manage to watching Brady play until he was 45 years old.
Ridley, who once played alongside Brady for the Patriots, recently came across Hart’s post and posted it on his own Instagram story, giving Hart a shoutout and reminiscing about Brady’s remarkable career longevity. Despite not being known for his speed and explosiveness, Brady played until he was 45 years old, retiring earlier this year after 23 seasons in the NFL.
In contrast, Ridley, who is 34 years old, has always relied on his speed as a key asset in his career. During the 2011 NFL combine, he ran his 40-yard dash in 4.65 seconds. Throughout his time with the Patriots, Jets, Falcons, and Steelers, Ridley accumulated 3,102 yards and 24 touchdowns in 73 career games.
If Hart, at 44, decides to challenge another former pro athlete to a race, he might want to consider finding someone closer to his age range for a fair matchup.
Ridley spent four seasons playing with Brady on the New England Patriots, as seen in a photo from 2013. In a recent video, Hart reluctantly acknowledged that his body was starting to feel the effects of his age. ‘Folks, hitting 40 is the real deal,’ Hart confessed. ‘To all the men and women out there who are 40 and older, it’s no joke – show some respect for that age. If you don’t, it will make you respect it – trust me, I learned that the hard way.’ Reflecting on his recent race, Hart questioned the purpose of competing at his age. ‘Why am I even doing this, why did I race?’ he pondered. ‘It’s probably the dumbest thing ever…I must be the dumbest guy on the planet. But hey, that’s life for you.’
