In the United States, a dog owner who abandoned his pet at the airport and traveled without her was arrested. The irresponsible behavior could result in either a punishment of imprisonment or a substantial fine for losing a companion animal.
A young man named Bigsen Charles from America was taken into custody for leaving his furry companion outside of the airport in Iowa, USA. Initially, he had planned to bring his beloved dog, Ellie, along with him on his trip to New Jersey. However, once he found out that a carrier was mandatory for pets during flights, he decided to leave Ellie behind and fly solo. Consequently, poor Ellie was left unattended at the airport.
“I didn’t want to miss my flight, so I decided to pay for my dog’s travel and assumed the airline would provide a carrier. Unfortunately, I was unaware that I had to bring my own carrier,” shared the man in an interview with a tabloid. He attempted to ask the taxi driver who brought him to pick up his dog, Ellie, and also asked the airport staff to keep her inside, but both requests were denied. As a result, he tied up Ellie and planned to coordinate with his friends to pick her up later, but that plan fell through.”
Upon spotting the dog, concerned individuals alerted the local ARL Rescue Center who promptly took the dog to the shelter on the same day. The unfortunate owner, confessing he had bought the dog for his daughter’s birthday, admitted that he had no intention of harming her. Despite feeling heartbroken upon leaving Ellie at the shelter, the owner knew that someone would eventually take care of her. Currently, law enforcement officials are investigating this case.
The guy is facing allegations of animal cruelty, and a decision on the punishment is yet to be determined. This violation could result in a prison sentence ranging from 30 days to 2 years or a fine of up to $8,000 (equivalent to 580,000 rubles). During the proceedings, the owner refused to speak on the phone about the dog. Meanwhile, the orphanage has received official permission to find new owners for Ellie. Let’s stay positive and hopeful!
